Favaloro University student Candela Ciselli is currently completing her thesis for her Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences, on microorganisms and plants from the RASA biosaline farm.
Her work, currently in development, is entitled "Characterization and biotechnological potential of microbial communities of roots of halophilic plants irrigated with reuse water."
The objective is to study the microorganisms present in the roots of Salicornia neei and Atriplex lampa plants irrigated with brackish water from the treatment of fishery effluents. Through microbiological, molecular, and bioinformatic analyses, we determine which microorganisms contribute to alleviating salinity stress and, therefore, offer biotechnological potential for the development of agricultural inputs. This study is being conducted at IPEEC-CONICET under the direction of Drs. Nelda Olivera and Magalí Marcos.
