Reuse of treated fish effluents for irrigation Within the framework of research aimed at reusing brackish treated fish effluents for irrigation, the Microbiology and Biotechnology Laboratory (LAMBio-IPEEC) carried out a root sampling of Atriplex lampa plants grown in the biosaline farm of the
company Rawson Ambiental S.A. (RASA). These plants have grown irrigated with treated fish effluent since the beginning of 2023. From the collected roots, the microbiome will be studied to find out its diversity and functional capacities. These studies will explore and understand plant-microorganism interactions, and identify microorganisms relevant to the growth of plants irrigated with brackish reuse water.
