A new production cycle is beginning, and we are continuing to investigate the agronomic response of various horticultural species—including Swiss chard and beetroot—to irrigation with brackish water. We are evaluating their establishment, vegetative growth, phenological development, and adaptation to saline conditions, with the goal of determining their productive potential under these cultivation conditions.

In a global context of increasing freshwater scarcity, the use of brackish water resources for irrigation represents a promising strategy for diversifying water supply sources and expanding options for agricultural production. Research into crop tolerance to salinity and the resulting impact on yield is essential for evaluating the viability of such systems and promoting a more efficient and sustainable use of available water resources.
