World Migratory Bird Day 2024 highlights the relationship between migratory birds and insects amid alarming declines for both.
World Migratory Bird Day is a global campaign that educates and promotes conservation efforts for migratory birds and their cross-border journeys. It raises awareness of the challenges faced by birds and encourages conservation actions around the world.
At Rasa, we deeply value birdlife. In our lagoon, some birds stay year-round, while others only visit during a specific season, returning year after year.
Known as Laguna L4 or Laguna de las Aves, due to its high salinity and the presence of a large number of microalgae, this lagoon is the habitat of an important population of small invertebrates, with brine shrimp being the most predominant. This abundance attracts many migratory birds towards the end of summer, when they come to feed before starting their northward migration.
